Our digital projects were spread across two campuses – at Lewisham and Southwark Colleges.
Lewisham college invested in digital equipment to create a digital learning space for Health & Social care students to address the digital skills gaps the sector is facing. Year 1 has seen the foundations of digital equipment enhancing digital learning in non-Digital areas, that without LSIF would not have been achievable. Essential kit including computers, Laptops and audiovisual tools including Smart screens were installed to enhance Lewisham College’s digital learning platforms enabling tutors to deliver industry specific digital skills to progress onto further training or progress into sustainable work.
Southwark college invested in equipment to improve connectivity between learners and external partners, such as employers and HE providers. This was achieved by enhancing the IT equipment and creating a ‘connected classroom’, enabling real time collaboration between staff/ students on-site with external businesses and HE partners who are streaming in remotely. Year 1 specifically aimed at the creative gaming industry with the intention to use this new learning environment cross-college as delivery is developed.
CPD for staff has supported personal development and improve the quality of teaching and learning across various sectors in the college.
